I got a call from a lady who is closing escrow on a new home here. She has 1,700 square feet of slab which is only 2 weeks old. She bought Home Depot's Bruce flooring and asked me to install it. She said the guy at HD told her "Just glue it down!". Wanted to know how much I'd charge to install it for her.
Warning signals went off in my head right away. Can you guys relate?
I'm just getting into the install business. But I know enough to say that the slab must cure for atleast 60 (?) days. Then moisture readings. etc.
She decided to take Bruce back to HD where "he" belongs.
I have a friend who is retiring from the floor business who I'll pay to go to the site and help me put a recipe for success together.

If your customer needs a floor right now and cannot wait till the concrete fully cures, perhaps applying Taylors Meta-Seal X-treme Concrete Sealer, then lay 6 to 8 mil polyethylene lapped up the walls a couple of inches. Seal seams with duct tape. Then lay a floating floor likes Kahrs. I think any directly attached floor will fail.
