Gents and Flooring Mechanics:
My efforts are to help an importer specify Installation guidlines and ADHESIVES for Bamboo Plank Flooring.
My suggestion to them was to specify Urethanes, not water based 'anything'.
Since I'm not using glues on a daily basis, please list Urethane Adhesives you would use to adhere Bamboo.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Bostiks Best, of coarse.

Parabond, Millineum 4002

Even, Bruce Equilizer

I would seriously ask W.F. Taylor, what they have for Bamboo, as I have not seen a Urethane from them. That 2071, is something else!! I like it, but it is not a Urethane. I have not used it on bamboo, only engineered.

Thank you Gents.
You have been a big help.
What does DriTak have?
I guess I could check the web site, but Its best to see what you guys like using. Bamboo should not be installed with water based urethanes. They can be, but high humidity areas slow the drying time resulting in the floor being installed in wet glue that cups the bamboo.

Chuck,
water based and moisture cured are two different issues. The post was concerning "water based" and your comments indicated you believe that Moisture Cured Urethanes are Water Based? Which urethanes required "flash off" and which urethanes are "wet set"?

Am I totally out of my mind or getting old and "losing it"??

You are either jumping to conclusions, not reading the posts, looking for something negative to say or I'm not perfectly clear in posting. Which is it?

Most manufacturers specify Bostiks. Sean probably has more experience than anyone with bamboo here. I'd take his word for it.

Ken,
Thank you for your response. Good to know the one "in the know" and who's advice to pay attention to. The goal is to be of help to the Importer who, in turn, can be of help to his customer and end users.
Thank you all for your responses. Very helpful.
Ray

Chuck,
I don't understand the information being incorrect. The post stated "Water based anything". How in the world did you confuse that with moisture cured? And where is my million dollars :)?

You are correct Chuck. I miss-stated. To please you, I edited the post to say Water Based rather than water cured.
Now I know what you were talking about.
So tell us about this simple chemistry and the differences between water based and Moisture cured.
Maybe you won't be so bored. :)

Having nothing constructive to add to this thread, my first thought was- Great, another clueless importer.

Speaking of adhesives, I need to patch a Hartco Pattern Plus floor ( the old two ply stuff, not the 5 ply) and then resand and refinish the floors. What adhesive would ya'll recommend. I know Hartco makes an adhesive for the Pattern Plus but I'm concerned about how long it will take curing wise before I can sand the floors. The flooring is going over plywood. I need an adhesive that will cure fast and hold real good as I may need to eliminate some of the T&G in this patching. Any recommendations?
