Hello, I am looking for tips to install white oak hardwood flooring. What's the best way to install it. PSI using a flooring stapler? What do you use as a spacer between the first row and the wall? Any tips would be great. I will be living in my house for a long time. I want a solid installation.

Thanks

Dont use a flooring stapler. Use a finish nailer. Snap a chalk line to get a straight line, find some straight boards for your first row and then use a little flooring adhesive behind the chalk line and finish nail through the tongue of the boards. Get the boards lined up nicely with your chalk line and then step on the board so that it doesn't move when you finish nail the tongue. You can also face nail with the same finish nailer on the back edge of the first row as your base board will cover the holes.
