Since they can be obtained in either solid or engineered, I would prefer the engineered for less seasonal movement. European Pearwood is commonly used for musical instruments but the African counterpart, Moabi, is different. Since it comes with a good warranty, I do not think one would have a problem if installed per manufacterer's instructions.

Same can be said for the African Cedar/Bosse. Both are quite hard. Stability is always a concern with solids so it it is wise to cosider the engineered.
