Hi,

On tuesday, I had guys sanded the floor, followed by only vacuuming. Then they applied a sealer and less than 1/2 hour they applied the first coat of poly on the floor. While they were applyng the first coat, I mentioned that the floor looked like bad, as if it had dust or inappropriately cleaned, but they said that it was bubbles.

Today, on Friday morning, the floor is dry. I walked on it with socks and the floor was not smooth. I noticed that in almost all the floor, it looks and feels lumpy/grainy.

Is this normal ? The same guys refinished my second floor a few months ago, and I did not see this same issue present itself, and the floors came out nice.

If its not normal, what should be the correct way of fixing it ? should they sand eveything out and re-start with the sealer ?

thanks for your immediate advice ! The guys are coming today to apply the final coat, and I need to know what to do before hand!

Thank you.

Let them complete the job. Most likely, they will buff (abrade ) the floor before applying more finish. That should take care of any roughness and smooth out the finish.

it will turn out fine, im sure the sealer they used is the same one we use. you apply it let it dry and put down the first coat. its called a hot coat, the sealer isnt meant to be buffed. before they put the final coat on they will buff it smooth then vac and coat it.
