hi there, i have one of the hardest woods( Pat Rosewood ) to nail down 2.5 x 3/4 ( Janka Rating : 3250 ) and the Freeman Pneumatic Nailer - is jamming, swirled nails, tongue breaking and so on.

This is happening for every 2 to 3 sq.ft - per line almost.. !

Looking for any help, tried various pressure settings and nothing's working.
I am blaming the wood's hardness for now.

Air Compressor : C&H - 125 PSI, 20 Gallon, 4.6 SCFM.
Nails : Staples - 2" x 15.6 Ga. - Bostitch.
Nailer : Freeman PFL618BR - 3-1 Nailer.

I am not hitting it hard, just a tap.. !, oiled multiple times.

Not familiar with that nailer. Your better off using cleats with that density range. But with staples..... I would go with 1 1/2" , and dial down to around 80 PSI.
The gun is jamming cause your PSI is way too high.

Thanks, its been a while, i am going to try some cleats to see if that helps., this wood floor has been pretty hard to work with, but the results are amazing, Worth the sweat. For this thickness and hardness ( 3/4 and 3250 Hardness ) , what type of finish nailer do you guys recommend.

1. Do i go with a angled 15g finish nailer
2. Do i go with a 16g finish nailer - angled or straight ?

Thanks for the help.

You cannot mix staples with cleats, thats bad juju. You shoulda tried an 18ga cleat first. And no not a finish nailer. I'd say take it up and start over.
