Hello everyone,

My wife an I decided to put wood in our living/dining room this past summer, so we got 700sq of 1/2" South American Walnut Natural Wood from Home Depot, and after few phone calls to HD we finally received the wood 3 days ago. For my surprise, in the box I found planks with 4ft and 2ft were 4 planks are 4ft and 24 are 2ft.

The problem now is that I am having a hard time to figure how to lay the planks for the installation. By the way we will be doing a floating installation.

Any suggestion will be very welcome!

Thanks,
Thiago.

Not all engineered wood can be installed as a floating installation. Shorts, as they are called are usually a gluedown only, when it is engineered.

You better contact the manufacturer of the wood, DON'T ASK ANYONE AT HOME DEPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will lead you down the road to a complete failure. If they knew what they were talking about, they would be working at a flooring retail store and making 4 times what Home Depot pays thier flunkies.
