Hi.

I am having my wood floors sanded and stained soon. Can anyone with experience help me choose between two finishing products--Street Shoe XL versus Bona Traffic's Commercial Grade Waterborne finish? I looked online, and it looks like both a good products. Here's what I think I know:

Street Shoe requires sealing stain before putting on finishing coats. Traffic does not.
Both are known for commercial applications.
Traffic has more solids (whatever that means).
Street shoe's satin is a little higher sheen that Bona. I think lower sheens are more desirable right now in terms of style.
Both are good products.

Anyone have any insight? Are we talking basically the same quality of product? That is all I really need to know. Also, 2 coats or 3?

They are both good products. You say you are having your floors sanded and stained suggests that you are not doing this yourself. I would say that one consideration you should factor in is which product the person doing the work is more experienced with and comfortable with using. If he or she has a lot of experience with Traffic and only one or two experiences with Street Shoe I think Traffic might be a smarter way to go. Your floor is not a place where someone should be learning to use a product.
