Please help and a big thanks in advance... I have opened my dining room doorway from three feet to ten feet and want to continue the 60 year old 2" red oak from the living room into the dining room. Question in order to do this I have to change the direction of nailing. Can this be done. Where the ten foot opening is I can tie into the old floor and work my way across the room, to the farthest wall, then fill in the rest of the room.. Thats easy, but how does one continue to go the other direction to finish the other side of the room...Visually think of the letter T , The up part is red Oak coming from the living room into the dining room, the dining room is the top part, hope that makes sense...Thanks again

When I had to change directions in my kitchen, I just made a new tongue from 1/4" plywood. It worked very well.

Being a handyman for the last 30 years (but this is my first hardwood floor, for my home) you'd think I could have figured that one out...Simple when you think about it...Thanks a lot
