Folks:

The hardwood floor sub did a dark custom stain (80% Ebony and 20% Mahogany) and 4 coats of poly. The end result is beautiful..however, there seem to be scuff marks and dust in the cracks which are not going away. Sub is saying they will go away over time. Would appreciate your thoughts? I find it hard to believe that they cannot be fixed...and also wonder if the scuff marks are poly on the installer's shoes what is the best solution to solve this. Thanks for your help.

PS - I could not post pictures as attachment and i do not have a server..any help would be appreciated.

more info and obvioulsy some good quality pics needed..

but that said...

scuffs are not part of the coating and if it were footprints , they would be obvious...

scuffs happened after.

dust in the cracks...cant make a comment on that..
obvioulsy an old floor..
vacuum may not have gotten all out between the seams...

t

to say through normal usage that it may disappear is not absurd, but there are factors to consider...
are they saturated with poly?again remove it?/ give it a shot..
