I am replacing a defective enginered floor that was 9/16 inch thick with new enginered flooring that is 1/2 inch thick. This new floor will be slightly lower than the tile it will butt up to, any suggestions on how to make up this 1/16 inch difference?

Perhaps additional layer of felt???? first run will be tricky to fit ... but who knows ??? Just a thought

In order to achieve what the competition cannot grasp, we must complete what they will not attempt. Nobody ever said it would be easy, but it's darn sure worth it.

I can't see that 1/16 as a problem. But.....If you are nailing it down, shim it like JC says, if its gluedown, gluedown some vinyl flooring as a shim to get the height right, then float that out with some ardex feather finish.

Thanx for the ideas, I will try them.
Has anyone worked with Shaw enginered flooring ? They have an exotic series, but it is a fixed length, 36". Would this look ok if you stagger the starting rows?
