I need to install headers boards where the wood transitions to carpet. I have searched the archives and while I see a lot of mention of header boards, can someone explain to a 1st timer exactly how to make one? In my layout, the header board is on the verticle end, not the sides. It will have a header on each end of the layout. That is the simple version. The actual layout flows from an entrance foyer, down a hall and into a kitchen. These places border existing carpeted rooms.

Thanks for a great forum.

I have the female side of my strips facing carpet. I was going to rip a few strips 1" wide and chamfer a 45 degree on the carpet facing side 1/4" deep. Then I would finish nail these onto the floor. They could easily be removed at some time in the future if I ever wanted to change the carpeted area to hardwood.
