I just found out about this Bostich jack and am wondering if you tried it and like or dislike it ? It's said to be a dual mode jack in that it pushes or pulls boards

We have been using the Powernail version(s) for a long time. They never really caught on much with my installers, but they work very well. Powernail makes them as two separate units, one for pushing, one for pulling.

How in the world do you use that thing on an installation. A ha, I know, pushing the dog out of the room before it trots throught the glue? Or maybe propping up the end of a mobile home out of spec?

Thanks for the input. I ended up checking out the Bostich MIII and like it so I bought it. It can pull and push and is pretty ergonomic. One thing I also like is that the lever is easier to release than the PowerNailer version

On the battering ram version, does the crank come around and hit the wall ? I imagine that you have to get the brace really close to the wall and then take up the last bit of slack with the lever ?

Paul, actually no, the crank is opposite the wall. It's really the most versitile floor jack out there but cumbersome. I also used it when installing my deck. You know those 16 footers can be a tad bowed.

Howard, yes you can jack up a mobile home or change a tire. ha ha

I have the Port-a-Nailer version. The Port-a-Jack.

Used it several times like a charm. Not as fast as the screwdriver trick, but is less stress than prying hard on the tongue and trying to use a tool and mallet.
