I just talked with the guy who is going to be doing a buff and recoat, and they now offer FOUR choices of finish instead of the two that they offered last year when I called. I was already confused with TWO choices, so I don't know how I am gonna cope with four, lol :)

Here are the choices:

Matte, Satin, Semi-gloss, Gloss AND I have to choose water-based or oil-based poly.

My priority is getting something that doesn't show surface scratches easily, which what I have now does. I have a water-based gloss right now.

My questions:

1. Which of the options will be best in terms of being most durable in terms of limiting surface scratches?
2. Which of the options will be best given that I have a lot of reflective light coming in through multiple sides of the house? I know that reflective light makes a difference from a few of the posts I've read here, but am not sure just how it plays into the other variables and what choices might work best for me.

Any input is very much appreciated!

MM
