pulled up WW carpet in bedroom Have an ugly red oak it apepars to be hate red in floors..if i have a guy sand it down to bare wood, will it be a blonde or light or gray cast or anything but the red amber cast it is now? If not, will solid oak or maple wood floor over it in natural color or engineered wood over it be better?

Have it sanded and re-stained in any color you want. Lets see, I've done gray, blond, white, black, alternating white and gray stripes, light blue, dark green, yellow, pink and most all wood toned colors. A good refinisher can do miracles.
