Hello,
New to the forum, but been lurking here for a year now and can't really find an answer to this.
Question, I just moved into a new place and the current LR, DR and FR is parquet. I'm planning to replace it with stapled down 3/4" hardwood floors.
Problem is, I just noticed this pink glue they used is super strong. It's as hard as automotive filler. It's safe to say the parquet floor is bonded so strong, its now one with the 3/4" plywood subfloor. Problem is, I don't want to lay down another 1/2" subfloor. It will add too much height to make a nice transition to the crematic floor.
I believe the floor joists are 2x8s, and definately 12" OC.
In this case, is it okay to just stable the new hardwood floor right onto the parquet?
TIA,
James
