I'm installing (gluedown) an engineered hardwood (Owens Plankfloor). I have around 1200sqft going in over ceramic tile on slab.

Has anyone else done installs over ceramic? The floor is level and smooth (I've smoothed grout lines with Ardex SDF). I've scuffed up the tile with a 40grit prior to dropping the Ardex. I've had a few installers tell me this is OK, but don't see many folks going over ceramic. I'm also planning on dropping MVP down before the install (though believe this is overkill).

Any issues to look out for here or words of wisdom?

Appreciate any help here, just layed out a pretty penny for the Owens, Ardex and the MVP, now I'm concerned that all this will be for naught. Though ripping up the tile will leave me attempting to relevel the subfloor and create a bunch of additional work.

Thanks a ton & happy new year!

If those tiles are very well bonded, I see no problem with what you are doing. The idea of using MVP is a good one: extra insurance against failure. You should be OK.
