Ken graciously gave two thumbs up to post these resource links for your forum membership.

This link is a reprint from the Hardwood Manufacturers Association on radiant with some minor corrections, updates and additional materials from the Canadian Wood Council, Building Science Corporation and Washington State University Civil and Environmental Engineering Department
http://www.healthyheating.com/Page%2055/hardwood1.htm

This link contains explanations on 22 of the most popular myths around radiant heating
http://www.healthyheating.com/Radiant_M ... hology.htm
see Myth #9 on moisture and radiant, Myth #19 on using sand and Myth #22 on bubble foil insulation.

This link will take you to an article about loop lengths, tube spacing, (see step 5) and other radiant design considerations.
http://www.healthyheating.com/downloads ... Design.pdf

This link will take you to a list of resources to read before using bubble foil insulation and includes a written specification you can use in your construction contract:

Hope the materials help out.

Hi mga,

It is definitely a 'sticky' topic on the job sites!

My favorite book on wood and its free - all 400 plus pages.
http://www.fpl.fs.fed.us/documnts/fplgtr/fplgtr113/fplgtr113.htm

Anything and everything one ever wanted to know about wood including shrinkage, swelling, warping ... see chapter 12, Drying and Control of Moisture Content and Dimensional Changes. A must read for those installing hardwood floors with any type of HVAC system.
