We installed infloor heating in a home. The hard wood installed stapled thruogh the subfloor and punctured the tubing. Is it normal to staple 1/2" thought the sub floor

Poor planning and choice of fastener length!!!

No, the fasteners should not blow through the substrate.

It also sounds like there my not have been enough beef to the subfloor, for it it pop through that much.

Believe it or not, 2" fasteners are originally intended for 33/32 flooring, not 3/4, where 1½" is more then sufficient.

If any body can tell me where to find that the staple or nail shouldn't pass through the sub floor it would really help
