 Post subject: Hardwood floor and cabinets?

Hey all...
First post.
Our house was built in 1954, nothing is level...trying to level the floor as best I can with floor leveler.

I built a kitchen island that includes the sink and dishwasher, shimmed it level.

We're shopping for hardwood flooring AND cabinets at the same time.

Would you suggest the hardwood go completely under the cabinets or butt up against them?

Thanks for helping a newbie with his first question.
