Folks,

I just had 900 sq. ft. of clear grade prefinished ash installed in our new home. I noticed since moving in that throughout the installation when the light is shining at an angle off the surface, I see numerous little dings about the size of a nickle and half moon in shape. It almost looks as if someone was tapping the boards together with a small hammer instead of using blocks. Any ideas of what this could be?
Thanks.

Dings or dents?

A small step ladder, legs off a saw table, almost anything can make a dent in ash.

Floorguy,

THey are on almost every board which makes me think it has something to do with his cleat nailer. It like a half circle dent the size of a nickle.

Solid or engineered? Do you know which cleat nailer was used?

Jerry,

The wood was solid clear ash. I don't know the cleat nailer he used.
