I am sure this is a very common situation, but I need some help. The wife and I are looking to put in hardwood floors, and we have dogs. I was leaning towards laminate, but the wife is being picky. We have 2 problems. One is the English springer Spaniel (50lbs), who I am worried will scratch it. The other is the only mostly housebroken weiner dog, she doesn't go very often, but it is an issue. We are looking at the BR111 Brazilian Cherry, how will it hold up? It is colored all the way through, but I still don't want it to scratch. Also how is it with urine? Thank you for the help.

Then don’t buy wood or laminate, go with tile. Both floors will scratch even without dogs; with wood character adds to the value with laminate it decreases the value. Tile is the only hard surface flooring that will not scratch under most normal conditions.
