I have toddlers in my home, and have pre-finished hardwoord floors and stairs. The stairs are starting to present a problem - the kids just don't understand the consequence of falling down them. They wear grippy socks, but sometimes those slip. I've seen him take a run full-speed and slide around in them, sometimes falling.

Anyhow, what I'm wondering is if there's a brand/type of grip-tape that would be safe to use on my pre-finished hardwood bull-noses. I need to remove the tape one day in the future, either to replace worn/damaged parts or because the kids are old enough not to be stupid around stairs.

Any suggestions? (note - a carpet covering the stairs is not an option).

So far, a promising looking product I found is 3M's bathtub clear grip tape. It's designed to be peeled off one day (..from a bathtub..), is transparent, and seems pretty sturdy.

Thanks!!

The problem with tapes is that the adhesives can peel off the finish if they are to strong.
