The day after I laid my tigerwood (engineered) glued-down flooring, movers put a 2" long gouge in it. I don't want to rip out a section of the floor to replace the boards, as this would entail moving a very large, very fragile case piece.

The gouge isn't super deep, and I think I could live with it if I knew how to properly fill it in and color to match. Fortunately tigerwood has a recurring dark stripe, so I could even make it look like one of those.

The flooring company who laid the floor doesn't want to touch it, and local DIY stores haven't been any help either.

Can you provide insight that might help ameliorate the situation?

If you lived out my way, I'd fix it up for you. I use acrylic hot melt sticks. Times are slow, maybe someone in your area is wiling to repair it. If not my best suggestion is to use this filler, ( maybe there's a distributor in your area). They will also mail you a tube. Then maybe even draw a tiger strip through it with a colored Sharpe.
