We purchased some Schon engineered hardwood (Brazilian Koa 7/16th x 4-3/4") quick-clic flooring which was floated over a slab that was not flat and damaged. As you can imagine we were unhappy with how it felt and sounded. We've had the slab repaired to spec but I'm still concerned that I won't be happy with how a floating floor feels. The installers have given me the option to have it glued down but I'm worried that this may cause problems because it is not tongue-in-grove flooring. Has anyone tried this type of install? Purchasing an entirely new floor would be cost prohibitive at this point. I live in the southwest and moisture shouldn't be an issue.

Wanna bet moisture is not an issue? Some manufacturers of click engineered say you can glue it (better check for warranty) but you better do proper moisture tests to the T, and documentation of the tests...ph and moisture tests per manufacturer are key.
