I've been searching the forums for info on glueing bamboo with no success. (maybe I'm not using the right bamboolean search phrase.. ;->

I've just ordered stair treads from lumberliquidators for short money (I sprang for Timbergrass for the bulk of the install) I have two pie treads which need to be made out of the same 1" stock in order to maintain an even rise. I'm hoping to glue and biscuit several treads together to form a panel. I've heard that the bamboo is manufactured with some sort of formaldehyde type of glue. Is this Hyde glue? Is there some acceptable substitution ?

Bisquits (made of beech) work by the swelling action when they come in contact with a waterbased glue. Typically, a yellow carpenters works best. Glue your fabricated pie tread to the substrate with Bostick's Best.
