So I'm going to put 5/16" solid Bruce on my stairs and will staple it. I know I need to use poly glue as well. Question is, how much? Does the whole strip need covering or can I get away with a couple beads. Would like to use a caulk gun as that poly is some nasty stuff. Thanks in advance.

A thin, wiggly bead per board would be adequate.

I use a caulking cartridge. PL Premium in the yellow tube.

I do 3 beads. Some do the snake. Brad nailer may work better.

I was going to trowel on Bruce EverBond adhesive to glue down the engineered wood on my stairwell... This is basically what I understood from reading: http://www.hardwoodinstaller.com/hardwo ... -prep6.htm

I do not have a flooring nailer, but I do have standard brad and finish nailers. When using the PL Premium caulk as you described, is the nailing really necessary? Would 2" finish nails (I think they are 16 gauge) be sufficient? It's a Bruce 3/8" engineered maple.

Your approach sounds a lot less messy than troweling the flooring adhesive.
