Right on about gluing solid flooring, I would never recommend that. Except in the case of patterned flooring, Like the old Kentucky Wood Floor patterns, or herringbone. The stress with these floors is equal in all directions, plus they are generally small pieces so I dont have a prob with gluing them. But would never glue down a linear plank.
Those fasteners (cheap cleats) I mentioned were so soft, yet brittle, that you could bend them back and forth twice then they would snap. Ya think maybe I shoulda checked them before sending them out to job sites? Sometimes a low price is not the best criteria, And I know this, just wasnt thinking. It was a "knee-jerk" reaction to all the cheap junk available in our neighbourhood.

I definetely agree that all solids should be fastened down. I still think gluing down solids is a time bomb. And I guess we'll see how "Best" holds up in another 15 years, on engineered or solids. I know right now I shy away from taking up a floor glued down in Best. I glued down 2000 ft. in my house using Best. If I ever replace this floor I'm shooting down plywood ! Any of you have a great tip for taking up wood in cured Best ?

They claim those riding floor removal machines can do the trick, but I'm skeptical. Sure would love to see it in action for that type of gluedown.

Here ya go Kenster, 800 to 1000sf an hour:

They got the weight behind them which makes all the difference. The wood removal is near the end of the video of course. It goes carpet, vct, wood, ceramic.
