I need help! We built a new home with glue down oak hardwood floors over concrete. We have had about 12 spots pop up from the slab in the 16 months we have now been in the house and we have 4 new ones as of today. Installer has repaired these spots by drilling and filling but I am tired of dealing with this. I think floor should not continue doing this so long. Is this normal? We feel like something wasn't done right and we are always going to have problems until our entire floor has been drilled up. Thank you - we are going crazy!

Was this solid oak, or engineered?

It is solid oak, it was sanded and finished on site.

There is your problem.

I bet there is a cupped/washboard appearence to the surface, too!

Solid over concrete is a failure waiting to happen.. In your case, it is on going and always will.

Tear it out and put in an engineered as should have been done from the start.

non-flat concrete surface. Inject it to fix.
No need to tear out a perfectly good floor because of a few noises. After all, it is wood and even nail down can make some noise.

Tex, I read it as "pop up" from the slab. As in buckling.

If it buckled, I bet it is compression set on the edges making a cupped appearance

pop up? sorry.
hellsbells, remove those planks, find the moisture source and replace those planks.
If i'm reading the post correctly; there must be a moisture problem someplace..........
