First time poster, I am installing 3/8 X 3" Bellawood Brazilian Cherry on a at concrete slab.
I tested for moisture and it was fine. My plan is to put the concrete vapor barrier sealant, once that is cured to glue down my floor. The place I order the flooring said I could glue a felt type material down to the concrete (noise cancellation) then glue my finished flooring right onto this pad. This seems odd to me, my questions is has anyone done this and do you forsee issues with this type of installation?

No problems that I am aware of. Although our own preference (read: mine) is to use cork as the sound deadener.

Their trying to sell you Quietwalk,(more product, more dinero).
IMO the pitfalls with this product and a gluedown installation.... Hardwood doesn't adhere to Quietwalk like it does a vapor barrier, or concrete, which brings up all types of issues. And the installation will have somewhat of a floating floor feel.

Sounds like trouble to me. I wouldn't touch that. Besides, If your using MVP4 and BB there really is no noise transmission.

Thank you for the feedback, I think I am going to omit the felt padding from the project and just glue to the concrete. With that said, how has you success been doing that type of application? In NH there are not alot of houses on slabs, so there
are alot of na-sayers who don't have any experience with that telling me it will not work.

We also have little experience with it here in Montana
but the few we have done work very well. It takes a little more time and patience to glue but we have had no problems other than patience. We used bostik mvp4 and bostiks best adhesive.

You say the moisture is fine, you have to also make sure the slab is within specs for level or you will have hollow spots. I will only use Bostik products, I have had problems with others but never with Bostik's make sure you get plenty of adhesive remover and clean up any mess immediately, or you will have a nightmare on your hands.

Make certain you get your slab tested for moisture by a qualified person so your job does not end up like this one. issue-with-hardwood-floor-please-reply-t8206.html

http://www.tucsonazflooring.com/services.html Scroll down for the little diddy I wrote and pics of the two different moisture tests that I use which are industry standard.
