Gents,
I've seen this installation procedure (glue and nail/staple) mentioned several times on this board.
Questions:
1. What is the benefit of Glue and Nail?
2. How do you install?? Spread glue, work from the installed floor and nail/staple? Spread one row at a time?

I've not seen this installation and appreciate your instructions.

Thank you.

Everybody is different. I visited Goodwin Heart Pine a few weeks ago and they say not to glue. Btw, Don Bollinger was at the installation of their showroom along with Chuck Coffer, and Ken Peirson(some know these guys) a few years back. Here's are some pics I gathered, but I'm still not sure which one Chuck is..probably the skinny kid kneeling? Ken is the one standing and Don is doing all the work.

Pretty Impressive Showroom Work!

When I do it I usually take a measurement (say if I was doing a 3,5,7) pattern I would chalk every 15 inches. Then spread the glue, then lay it and staple (I would usually have it pre racked 20 inched from where I was working) I do it when I have larger planks, and on all my handcrafted floors. I know I could just glue them and it would be fine, but Im not using enginered flooring so there is still some boards that are bowed etc, so I prefer to staple. Just seems tighter IMO.

Ken, that is not Don, in the blue overalls, that is Howard Brickman and his signature overalls, you will always see him wearing.

Second picture is Howards son Richard, I believe.

I thought I had that mixed up. Thanks for clarifying, but I do remember Ken Peirson saying Bollinger was there?
