I've been slowly getting my concrete slab up to snuff before I glue my engineered flooring down.

One of my last problems is the paint mess left behind by the builders. It looks like my house was painted with blinders on and the paint build-up is pretty bad, especially by the baseboards all over the concrete.

I've gone so far as to get an orbital sander with heavy grit paper to get the paint off (too much dust) and just good old elbow grease with a scraper. I've also read about using 4 inch razor blades.

I don't want to use any heavy chemicals or strippers, and I'm leary about putting any liquid of any kind on my floor in fear of introducing moisture into the slab.

Most pros use a scarifier to strip concrete. It's noisey as heck, but makes quick work of it. I've used a media blaster in the bast personally to do the same job just because I have a small unit and shells were dirt cheap.

It best is hot water and a hand held 4" razor scraper. Then Fill the low spots with Ardex SD-F or Mapei PlaniPatch, and let it all dry out for a few days with a fan running to circulate the air.
