This meter gives both "Wood" and "Bldg" readings (toggle between).

I have been assuming that plywood is "Wood" for purposes of this meter. Can't find anything clearly delineating the difference between what material needs which setting - on the General website or in instructions.

If my 3/4 ply subfloor is "Bldg" material then the moisture reading is significantly lower than on the "Wood" setting.

I did find something for a different General meter that stated that for that meter plywood was NOT Wood, since it was a manufactured material.

Anyone have something in writing ? Thoughts or opinions ? Thanks, Dave

I have the same meter. Use the Pins btw, the pad is useless.

BLDG material is drywall and MDF as far as I'm aware, or at least thats how I've interpreted it. Wood is wood and I assume that works for plywood as well. I use the same meter for solid and engineered flooring which can have a plywood backer or cross layers of a different species and it will all register appropriately (at least, to my expectations anyway - I see water damage and the meter confirms high moisture so it must be working, right?)

I think for your general 2x4 and plywood construction that meter is ok. But if your doing hardwood floors you should upgrade to a professional meter that has built in species corrections.
