I don't know if this is allowed but thought I'd ask anyway. Since the year's nearly up and my insurance broker sent me a renewal form, I got to wondering what the rates are across this great country of ours, and if I'm paying too much! :? So, who wants to volunteer to divulge how much they're paying for general liability insurance. I'll start! Last year, my $500,000.00 policy with a non admitted company cost $1,450.00 + another $295.00 to have a GC included on my policy. Nearly $1,750.00 a year, for what? :x I like insurance about as much as I like attorneys, taxes, and politicians! :x Does anyone else feel the same way?

Your not alone!

Insurance is a scam, unless you get bit and need it!

I have "The Hartford" $168, down and they raised me to $75 for 9 months. That is for 1 million, and I am bondable.

Why did you have to put the GC on your policy? Doesn't he have his own???? LOL! Let him pay for his own mistakes and screw ups!!!

The GC called and said his insurance required it. I told him since it was his requirement, he could pay for it and that none of my other GC's required it. He comes back and says that it's the cost of doing business and I'm to pay for it. If I didn't get all his work, I would have told him to eat it! Outside of this, he is really a great GC to do work for. I told him I'd add it to the next bill but wouldn't itemize it. He says fine, go ahead; so I did.

Never heard of anything like it???

That is incredible, that you have to provide coverage for him.

All I have to do, is call my agent and have him fax everything the company needs, as far as that I am covered.

Guess I never worked for a big company like that. Sounds like a scam to me, so they don't need coverage.

I have a 1 million dollar policy with Erie Ins.Group. Had it for 8 years and cost me right at 300.00 per year. That reminds me, I need to check into insuring my tools.
