I have a new constructed home. (completed in Sept 2006). I had Bruce hardwood floors installed in Sept of 2006. I am now noticing gaps forming in the flooring. My floor is beginning to look like a jigsaw pubble. When I talked to the builder I was told it is because of the change in climates. I am not happy with the way my floors now look. My humidifier is set at 45 degrees. I am told that wood shrinks and expands. Does this mean when the warmer weather occurs my floors will ecpand? I live in Michigan.

I am going to complain to the builder and want to be educated before I talk to them.

Thanks for any replies and information.

Raise the humidity levels in the home!!!

You are running the heat and drying/shrinking the wood.
