hi,

My husband DYI wood floor installation on the 2nd floor. We use the solid acacia brazillian cherry wood floor. After we installed the wood on the first room, we noticed that there are big gaps in some areas. What can I use to fill in those gaps?

I read from the hardwoodinstaller.com, they recommended using Bona Kemi Gap Master. But I can't seem to be able to find the info on where to buy it in US. Does anyone know where I can get it?

Or maybe if anyone can recommended other products that do the same job well. I would prefer to be able to get it in US.

Thanks.

The site really doesn't recommend it, but offered as a suggestion. The problem is if the environment isn't kept at stable relative humidity (RH) levels the filler will not work. For instance, if the hardwood was installed in drier conditions and the RH rises for an extended period of time the boards will expand (gaps close up or become smaller) and push the filler out.

For others that may have an engineered hardwood, chances are good it will perform much better, but guys talk about some of those even expanding and contracting more than they used to. Specifically imported engineered hardwoods and ones with thick wear layers.
