Hi,

Were looking to put engineered hardwoods down in the bedrooms and were looking for some insight into what works best this far south? We really liked an anderson dellmano hickory frangelico - but worried about hickory expansion and the 6.25" width. We did like the current sales on the flooring though, as at $5-6/sqft it blew away most of the comparable material we could find down here. Triangulo had a nice tigerwood in a 1/2"x5.1/4" with a 3mm thick wear layer as well.

Its all on first floor going down on concrete in bedrooms and will see both kids and dogs. The hand scraped seems to be a good route (at least for the non-machined ones) to hide their normal wear and tear. Cost is an issue, especially if it wont last that long.

Any thoughts on what we should consider - we like the warmer honey/gold tones over dark or too red and figure a harder wood with a good coating is probably safer as is a decently thick wear layer. we've avoided LL after one visit and have seen more than our fair share of 1mm wear layer crap products.

Thanks

Hi all,

Still trying to figure out the best route. The Anderson Della Mano seems like a no brainer with the current sale pricing compared to other Anderson conglomerate pricing.

Also found a nice Mullican Chalmette at another local shop to check out.

I'd love to buy a USA made product in engineered. does anyone do a lighter colored hickory engineered here anymore?

Anderson Dellamano is top quality, can't be beat IMO. True hand-scraped, their Duratina aluminum oxide with Lustre Lock, I can go on and on, go for it !

Thanks! I'm glad it just wasn't me looking at the surface and missing something. Gotta love walking into a good sale.

Sale! My gosh, now you know they made some serious cash with this product in the past. My price had always been $7.99 square foot. Yes, good buy looking at historical price levels. It could be a permanent price. They did the same with some Virginia Vintage products last year and it's still on sale.
