I purchased enough 3/4" oak flooring to do my existing house and an addition. I'm done with the existing house but the addition isn't far enough along for me to store the flooring in it, so I find myself with about 700sqft of oak flooring stacked in my kitchen and no addition to put it in.
We have a contract on our other house and need to move in, so I have to find a place to store this flooring until the addition is ready, at least a couple of months. I know the wood flooring is sensitive to temp and humidity. Can I rent an unconditioned storage unit and store the wood there, then let it acclimate to the addition for a couple of weeks before I install it? Or will this caus problems? Do I need to find conditioned space to keep the flooring until I'm ready for it?
Thanks,
Greg
