I have a small area about 4 by 7 feet that is in the kitchen I would like to touch up. It not a lot of scratching but there are some stains. the floor has an oil finish and is a hardwood looks like oak but seems soft. When we try to scrub a stain out the area seems to turn white haze looking. I wold like to try to redo (sand) the area with a fine paper, re oil it, then cover it with an area rug, to protect it. Does this seem like a good way to spruce up this area. This floor is not wearing well in the kitchen.
