Hi all,
New guy here considering refinishing my first floor. But I need an educated opinion. This floor suffered the indignity of what I guess was years of pet urine stains. There are stains of many colors, black, bleached, and many in between. Here's one pic of it:

Is it worth the effort or is any refinishing doomed to failure? Would a very dark stain color help? Anyway, any and all informed opinions are welcome, and I thank you in advance!!

Ok, thanks for the input. I'll definitely not be sanding that.

Call the guy from Dirty Jobs, it would be in line with that.It is gross although we do it occasionally the results are not always desirable the stains do not go away, staining it dark can help hide some of them but be prepare for a less than perfect floor.

It would be a gross job, but I believe I could make those floors look great. I would just sand them down and stain them a dark color to hide the stains. As long as the top layer of wood is thick enough to be sanded and you are willing to take the floor to a dark color, you can make them look pretty good.
