i've looked thru the past posts but didn't find an answer.
my living room and dining room joists dictate that i lay the floor north to south. however, the hallway and master bed room floor joists dictate that i lay the floor east to west. i prefer this direction (E/W) in the hallway because it's 25 feet long. i didn't want short boards across.
i intend on making the transition where the hallway meets the LR. am i correct doing it this way?
and, if that is correct, i would have to face nail some of the boards that had the ends cut where this tansition is.....is this correct also?
is there a general rule to follow when two floors meet that are in opposite directions?
thanks for any help. the floor is solid brazilian cherry, if it matters.
also.....i've read a s many posts here on the subject as i could, but there isn't a definate answer that i could see. what type of fasteners is best when installing brazilian cherry floors?
