Do wood floors need to be buffed after the 3rd coat of Poly? Or should the finish be smooth enough by then to simply dry and be done? If the poly is slightly rough to the touch after the 3rd coat can it be buffed to make the finish feel smoother to the touch?

floor should be buffed and tac clothed before the final coat. That will remove dirt and the grain and smooth it out to apply the final coat.

They buffed after the 2nd coat and before the 3rd coat and the 3rd coat dried smooth. Wanted to be sure in case their process wasn't ideal but it was.
Thanks for the tip.
