Has anyone had any luck with floating subfloors on top of concrete slab?

Method:
Moisture barrier
2 layers of 3/8" cdx one layer one direction the other layer layed the other direction, stapled together with some glue?

Then install flooring on top of subfloor as usual.

pros? cons?

We assemble that type of sub-floor all the time; with the following differences:
We use two layers of 1/2 inch plywood.
Bottom layer laid long direction with 1/4 inch space around the sheets, 1 inch space at walls.
Top layer laid digonally, attached to bottom layer with parquet adhesive and 7/8th inch staples. same 1/4 inch spacing.
Always put 6 m.m. poly under the assembly.
For sports floors, we add 3/8th inch by 2 inch by 3 inch neoprene pads staled to bottom of first layer of ply on 12 inch centres.
Other types and sizes of pads are available.
