I'm interested in floating a solid wood Acacia 7.87" wide floor that has underlay attached. It is sold to be floated. Is this a good idea? Anyone used this floor?

If the manufacturer says it can be floated and has instructions on doing it this way, then I would guess it could be done. The problem with most SOLID floaters is allowing for the expansion and contraction associated with solid wood.
