I'm planning a project to float engineered hardwood over an electric radiant
heating system on a slab. The radiant heating system manufacturer has
recommended a cork underlayment or an insulated backerboard like
Wedi-board. Does anyone have any recommendations on installing hardwood over electric
radiant heat on a slab? Specifically, is there a type of underlayment
you would prefer to use for thermal insulation, vapor barrier, and
comfort? Which engineered hardwood manufacturer's have higher ply
count products that can be floated but still allow that their product
could be installed over radiant heat? Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance you can give.
