Hi all,

I have floating engineered hardwood installed, and the contractor did not fully even out the subfloor before installing the hardwood. Subsequently, I am noticing some soft spots in floor. I don't have the budget to get it redone, so I am looking at how I can get it fixed.

From what I understand, I can't just inject adhesives/etc, since that will prevent the floating hardwood from expanding/contracting. I was wondering if it would be feasible for me to inject sand or rubber infill/particles (such as those used for artificial turf), into the soft spots through a small hole. This should give the wood enough support while also allowing for expansion and contraction.

Thanks!

if its a click lock it can be removed and reused several times b4 the lock fails. drilling a hole its going to be tough to level what ever you shoot in there unless its something that does it automatically.

You can always cut out some planks and slip some cardboard, roofing felt/tiles or the like in under those areas and then replace the planks. Certainly doable. But no glue or anything with water content.
