Hi ya'll. General question. I thought I had read here that a floating floor install shouldn't span more than so many feet (20 - 30?) without a transition type piece between rooms. O.K. so I've been watching Extreme Home Makeover, and have noticed that they always do floating wood floors in their homes... but I've yet to see a transition piece from room to room. It's always a beautiful, solid, non-broken floor on those huge homes! Can someone explain this to me? If it's o.k. to do that, I think for sure that's the way we're going to go. Thanks for your replies!

it's going to depend on a few factors mostly ignored in those overnight fix it shows. You can run one for five hundred feet if you want just dont expect the manufacture or installer to stand behind it if it gets a notion to start moving. If I were going to do it I would wait till spring or summer and leave as much perimiter and non-moving verticle space as your trim will allow.
