Ok, you should have used a "square nose" type trim where the floating floor terminates. This is a lip over style of molding that clamps the floor down, sort of. Anyway, it should have a squared off edge that faces where the carpet is going. So, make sure that molding is securely nailed/glued down to your substrate. Simply install a piece of tack strip about 3/8" in front of that square nose. Make sure the tacks are facing toward the wood floor/transition strip. Nail/glue down the the tack strip. Cut the carpet pad to fit flush with the tack strip. Trim the carpet to fit down inside of the "valley" between the tack strip and the square nose. Use a kicker to get it tight and stuff it (carpet) down in there. The carpet may sit a little low from the square nose. This is normal but you can gently ramp up the carpet if you prefer. Good Luck!
