Hey y'all first time post here...

I recently purchased the Bruce Locking Brazilian Cherry from lowes. (EBC01LG)

http://www.lowes.com/pd_130674-972-EBC0 ... facetInfo=

I purchased about 800 square feet of it. To set on the first floor which is all concrete, over a basement, and in some areas a crawl space. I will be laying it in my home within the next two weeks or so. My question relates to floating this or glueing it.

I want an authentic hardwood feeling / solid feeling floor, that is not spongy and does not click or pop. I originally intended to just glue down to achieve this. However, I like the idea of not having glue all over the concrete slab that I would have to remove in 10 or 20 years when I decide to replace the flooring.

What do y'all recommend? If you are pro-float why, and what underlayment? If you are pro-glue, why and what glue?

I am a novice at this, thanks for the help in advance!

If it's a locking floor you can't glue it down. Locking floors are meant to expand and contract as a whole unit and if is glued down it can't do that.

The specs say you can glue it down and thats how I would do it personally. Slab needs to be checked for moisture and appropriate glue and trowel used. I hate the way wood floaters sound, if you do float I would run a bead of tightbond in the t&g to minimize the squeaking.

I missed the glue down for a secondary installation method. I had asked other manufacturers if i could glue down their locking floors and they said absolutely not.

Because most of them "other ones" are idiots.
