My girlfriend has convinced me not to rip a damaged board out of the floor, especially since I had trouble finding it to show her after I had laid the chip back in its hole. So now the question is: how to I keep the chip in it's hole? Wood glue would wear out pretty quickly, and wouldn't stand up to mopping or anything like that. So, super glue? Clear caulk? Epoxy?

Thanks in advance

Super glue will do it, but it has to go right to the edge of the chip, all the way around. Could be a visual issue if you get sloppy. If you fail to get right to the edge, girlfriends stocking will at some point get caught on the chip and you will have a different issue.
